Why We Disappeared and Where We Went
You might be wondering what we’ve been up to these past couple of years and why things went quiet around 2021–2022. Well, I (Cameron Fowler, Founder & Creative Director) moved to Corpus Christi to pursue my Master’s degree and gain some more “real world” experience. Now that I’m splitting my time between New Braunfels and Corpus, I wanted to give an official update, share what I’ve been doing, and give a few sneak peeks at what’s ahead for Cam Fowler Designs!
🎓 The Pause for School During my senior year of undergrad, I had to choose between school and CFD — and I chose school. Two weeks before graduation, I was hired as the Seasonal Marketing Director for Port Aransas Fisherman’s Wharf, where I truly honed my skills in photography, videography, editing, content creation, and marketing. (See photos for examples of that work!)
🎒 New Chapter: Tourism Branding That fall, while still at the Wharf, I began grad school. When my time there ended, I immediately started as the Branding Specialist for the Port Aransas Tourism Bureau & Chamber of Commerce. From fall 2022 through this past summer, I learned and grew so much while juggling work and graduate studies.
During my time there, I wrote scripts for short videos, helped produce major town events like Whooping Crane Fest, worked closely with local businesses, and illustrated new poses for the town mascots — Flynn, Dottie, and Captain Riley. I created print materials, stickers, maps, social media content, and even illustrated a children’s activity menu and coloring book. It was an incredible period of creative and professional growth.
🎓 Graduation & Relaunch In May 2025, I graduated with my Master’s in English, and shortly after, I left the Bureau to relaunch Cam Fowler Designs! It’s taken a little longer than planned to get everything fully running, but we’re finally back — with exciting updates still rolling out over the next few weeks.
✨ What’s New
📈 My skills and knowledge have grown exponentially over the past few years.
💻 We now have two studios — one in Corpus Christi and one in New Braunfels — allowing us to serve a large portion of the Hill Country and Gulf Coast.
🎨 We’ve got a brand-new look, expanded services and products, and upgraded equipment.
👩💼 And I’m thrilled to officially welcome Haven Fowler, my sister, as my business partner! She’s heading up our marketing and operations while finishing her Bachelor’s in Marketing at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi.
✨ What’s Coming Up
🎨 We’ll be opening more art commission slots soon for custom t-shirts, art prints, hats, and more.
📸 In December, we’re offering a limited number of FREE brand photoshoot sessions — stay tuned for sign-ups!
📄 Also in December, we’ll be launching our licensable artwork, including exclusive SVGs, patterns, hand-illustrated motifs, and other designs created for small business owners to use on their own products. Custom art licensing commissions will open at the same time.
📧 Starting in January, our new email series — “Business Basics: Tips for Startups Who Don’t Know Where to Start” — will go out weekly through spring break. It’s packed with everything I’ve learned from years of trial, error, and collaboration with small business clients. Subscribe on our website so you don’t miss out!
💋 Overall, 2026 is going to be HUGE for Cam Fowler Designs. We’re rolling out new resources, creative services, and opportunities to help Texas businesses grow and thrive.
We’re so excited for this next chapter — and we can’t wait to bring you along on the journey.
